Tom Wu started his business back in 2016 after many years in the tax and accounting field. There are now four tax professionals with varying backgrounds and interests working for Tom. Our team of professionals have over 30 years of CPA, accounting and tax experience. We pride ourselves in being thorough, reliable, responsible and client centric regardless of your tax situation. Tom Wu

Owner & Founder
Tom was born and raised in Connecticut. After graduating from Wesleyan University, he moved to work for KPMG in NYC; first in auditing and then in the tax group. At the same time, he attended NYU and received his MBA in accounting. During Tom's five years at KPMG, he worked mostly in NYC but also in their London office for two summers. Tom then moved to join General Electric to work in taxes. After that he joined Colgate-Palmolive; first in HR, then in strategic planning, and then in marketing. Colgate eventually transferred Tom to Asia to start their business in China. During his fifteen years in Asia, Tom also worked for Sara Lee Corporation.
He and his family eventually moved to the Seattle area when Tom's better half transferred with Microsoft from Asia to the US. After spending a long period as a stay-at-home parent, Tom started working in taxes again. He also started doing financial planning and became a Certified Financial Planner.

Melissa graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. After graduation, she moved to the UK where she pursued her accounting career, eventually becoming a Financial Accountant with Verizon UK. While working full time, she also obtained her professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She moved to Seattle in 2009 when her husband took a job with Nokia. She took up various volunteer positions after the move, one of which was running the local Seattle netball club for 10 years. Melissa began working with Tom in 2018 helping to manage his business and eventually branching into bookkeeping and preparing tax returns. She is currently studying to become an Enrolled Agent (EA) with the IRS.
In her spare time she enjoys skiing, playing netball, and spending time with her husband and two cats.
Tina Stackman
Enrolled Agent
Tax Professional.
Tina joined in October 2021. She advises clients on a broad range of tax matters, prepares individual and tax returns and, since becoming an Enrolled Agent in 2018, assists clients with IRS audits and conflict resolutions. Prior to joining Tom's firm, Tina worked at H & R Block for 15 years. After graduating from University of California at Santa Cruz with a bachelor's in Mathematics, and prior to her career in the tax field, Tina worked for Lockheed Martin and Motorola as a software tester.
Tina enjoys running, hiking and cycling in the many trails around her home. She is a diehard Seattle Mariners fan. Tina lives with her husband and her dog. She enjoys visits from her two adult daughters.
Jim Werner
Tax Professional
Jim graduated from Cal State LA and went to work for Peat, Marwick and Mitchell which is now known as KPMG. He eventually went to work at Boeing where he spent 25 years supporting business systems. After retiring he rehoned his knowledge in taxation by volunteering to prepare individual returns at VITA, a program sponsored by the IRS and staffed locally by United Way of King County. Jim worked at Redmond H&R Block Advisers. After that, he's been preparing returns with Tom for the last several years.
